About the Myrtle Heart

The Cardas Myrtle Heart is a low-output moving-coil phono cartridge with a machined, vented Myrtlewood body. It uses a 0.28 mm solid-boron cantilever, a mirror-polished nude line-contact diamond stylus, and a square ruby jewel plate generator wound with copper wire. Key specifications include 0.3 mV output at 3.54 cm/s, 45-ohm internal impedance, 10 Hz–50 kHz frequency response (±1 dB), channel separation greater than 35 dB at 1 kHz, 15 µm/mN dynamic compliance, and recommended loading of 500–47,000 ohms. Cardas recommends a medium- to high-mass tonearm and a tracking force of approximately 2 grams.
