The Canary Audio CA-608 Special Edition is a revival of the original award-winning CA-608 integrated amplifier, produced initially from 1999 to 2006. It features four EL34 output tubes operating in ultra-linear mode, combined with high-quality components such as custom hand-made power and output transformers, Swiss ELMA rotary input selector switch with gold-plated contacts, and a Japanese Alps volume control potentiometer. The amplifier delivers 40 Watts RMS output power, with a frequency response of +/- 2dB from 10 Hz to 60,000 Hz, total harmonic distortion under 0.4%, and a signal-to-noise ratio of -78 dB below 1 Watt. It includes four pairs of single-ended inputs with gold-plated RCA jacks, an advanced soft latching power on/off circuit with stainless steel push button switch, and is 100% handcrafted in California, USA. The unit weighs 50 lbs and measures 17.5" W x 16.5" D x 6.5" H. It was discontinued due to parts availability but later reintroduced as the M608 with modern upgrades while maintaining the original design ethos.
