About the L-5CFB Audio
The Canare L-5CFB is a professional-grade 75 Ohm coaxial cable designed primarily for digital audio and video applications, including HDTV and serial digital video interfaces. It features a solid copper center conductor, foam polyethylene (PE) dielectric insulation, and a dual shielding system consisting of 100% aluminum foil plus a tinned copper braid, providing excellent interference protection and low signal loss. The cable has a nominal outer diameter of 7.7 mm and is rated for a characteristic impedance of 75 Ohms, suitable for SMPTE 259M, 292M, and 424M standards. It supports high data rates up to 360 Mb/s, far exceeding the bandwidth requirements of common digital audio formats such as Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, and DTS-HD Master Audio. The cable is designed for fixed installations and is not recommended for frequent bending or pulling. It is often terminated with Canare's "True 75-Ohm" connectors, available in RCA or BNC types, with flexible silicone boots to prevent sharp bends. The L-5CFB is widely used in professional broadcast and high-end home theater systems for reliable, low-loss digital signal transmission.
