The Camelot Technology Merlin is a two-way loudspeaker system known for its detailed and natural sound. It features a hand-made 1-inch soft-dome tweeter, a customized Morel MDT30 by Renaissance Audio exclusively for Merlin, and a 6.25-inch pulp woofer (Morel MW164-08). The speaker has a frequency response of 55 Hz to 20 kHz ±2 dB at 1 meter on axis, with a -10 dB point at 35 Hz. It has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms (minimum 6.5 ohms) and a sensitivity of 87 dB/W/m. The crossover is a second-order design set at 2150 Hz, wired in phase. The cabinet measures 16 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10.5 inches deep, weighing approximately 26 pounds. The speakers include two pairs of Cardas binding posts for bi-wiring, with supplied Cardas jumpers for single wiring. Key components and drivers are cryogenically treated to improve sound quality, and the crossover includes an RC filter designed to Q-align frequency response and reduce high-frequency noise. The design emphasizes lead-free components and meticulous build quality to achieve a refined audio performance.
