The Cambridge Audio CXC v2 is a dedicated CD transport that focuses exclusively on CD playback, eliminating the compromises of all-in-one CD players. It features Cambridge Audio's proprietary S3 Servo drive mechanism for precise disc speed regulation and state-of-the-art error correction to minimize jitter and retrieve maximum clean data from discs. The unit employs an audiophile-grade toroidal transformer and all-metal chassis to reduce noise and vibration. It supports gapless playback and is compatible with standard audio CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs. The CXC v2 does not include a built-in DAC, making it ideal for users who already own a high-quality external DAC or have one integrated into their amplifier.
