Brinkmann Audio Voltaire is an ultra-performance hybrid integrated amplifier that Brinkmann classifies as an Integrated Sound System (ISS). It employs a true dual-mono hybrid tube/solid-state architecture with a passive line preamplifier section and high-input-sensitivity power amplifier, designed to deliver up to 150 W per channel into 8 ohms, 250 W into 4 ohms and 300 W into 2 ohms while remaining stable into very low-impedance loads. The upgrade-friendly, modular design allows Voltaire to be configured in three variants: as a standard integrated amplifier, as an integrated amplifier with an MQA-capable, Roon Ready streaming DAC module derived from Nyquist Mk II, or as an integrated amplifier with a phono preamplifier module derived from Edison Mk II. Either module can be factory-installed or retrofitted later, letting Voltaire function as a complete digital or analog system in a single chassis. The ISS concept emphasizes minimal signal path, high current capability and flexible system building, with six analog inputs (4 RCA, 2 XLR), a wide-range headphone output, and network/USB/SPDIF/AES-EBU/Toslink connectivity when the streaming DAC module is fitted. Brinkmann's literature continues to list Voltaire as "availability to be announced" and "not yet available," and no official retail price or production status is confirmed; earlier dealer communications mention a prospective price range significantly above conventional integrated models, but these were preliminary and region-specific.
