About the PV1D

The Bowers & Wilkins PV1D is an advanced active subwoofer that builds on the legacy of the award-winning PV1 with a digital update. It features two 200mm (8-inch) paper-Kevlar-aluminium cone long-throw drivers mounted back-to-back in a sealed pressure vessel enclosure, which reduces unwanted vibrations and provides inherent stability. The subwoofer is powered by a 400W Class-D amplifier with DSP derived from the flagship DB1, allowing for precise tuning, five presets, and seamless integration with various satellite speakers for home theater or two-channel music systems. It offers deep, distortion-free bass with a frequency range extending down to 6.5Hz and a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 100dB. The PV1D includes multiple input options such as stereo line in (2x RCA) and speaker level in, with features like auto on/standby, 12V trigger, and RS-232 automation control. Its compact dimensions (342mm H x 270mm W x 358mm D) and finishes in matte black or matte white make it suitable for various room decors. The subwoofer weighs 18.7kg (41 lbs) and consumes 150W during operation with less than 1W in standby mode. An OLED display and touch controls provide easy access to setup menus and EQ options, and the subwoofer can also be controlled via a PC application (SubApp) through USB.
