About the Nautilus

The Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus is a flagship 4-way tube-loaded loudspeaker system designed with Nautilus tube loading technology and an active crossover network. It features four dedicated drive units: a 300mm aluminium cone bass driver, a 100mm aluminium/polymer sandwich cone lower midrange, a 50mm aluminium dome upper midrange, and a 25mm aluminium dome high-frequency driver. The system achieves a frequency range of -6dB at 10Hz to 25kHz and offers wide dispersion with over 60 degrees horizontal and 10 degrees vertical arc. The active crossover allows for precise linear phase filtering and time alignment of drivers, enhancing sound accuracy and dynamic scale. The Nautilus is a heavy and large speaker, standing 1210mm tall, 430mm wide, and 1105mm deep, with a total weight of 86.5kg including the plinth. It is available in Midnight Blue, Black, and Silver finishes, with custom color matching also offered. The design includes a curved, shell-shaped enclosure inspired by the sea creature Nautilus, created by designer Alison Risby. The speaker requires four channels of amplification per speaker, each rated 100W-300W continuous into 8 ohms on unclipped program, with identical gain and phase per channel. The Nautilus is renowned for its groundbreaking design and remains an icon in high-fidelity audio.
