The B&W DM70 is a 2-way closed electrostatic floorstanding speaker produced between 1970 and 1977 in England. It features a 305 mm dynamic bass/midrange driver and an electrostatic panel covering mid and high frequencies above 400 Hz, providing a wide, uniform sound dispersion with low distortion and a frequency response from 50 Hz to 15 kHz. The speaker is designed for high-quality, realistic reproduction of speech and music, with a recommended amplifier power of 25 watts and an impedance of 8 ohms. The DM70 was available in Standard and Continental versions, with finishes including teak, walnut, and white/walnut. It is known for its unique spherical acoustical distribution pattern in the mid-frequency range and its ability to reveal audio details with minimal coloration. Dimensions for the Continental version are approximately 820 mm height, 680 mm width, and 390 mm depth, weighing about 36.3 kg. The DM70 is no longer manufactured and is considered a classic high-fidelity speaker.
