The Bottlehead Paramour 2A3 is a pair of single-ended parafeed monoblock amplifiers, each using a 12AT7 driver tube and a 2A3 output tube. The design features a parallel feed output mode, which keeps the DC on the output plate of the tube out of the output transformer without using a capacitor or transformer directly in the signal path. This configuration provides a remarkable sense of realism, bandwidth, and bass articulation. The power supply includes ultra-fast soft recovery rectifiers and a C-R-C filter, with metal film resistors and polypropylene capacitors in the signal path. The input impedance is 270 kOhms, and the output transformer taps are available for 4 Ohm and 8 Ohm speakers. The frequency response is from 25 Hz to 37 kHz at -3 dB.
