About the VR1

The Boston Acoustics VR-1 is a high-performance floorstanding speaker system designed to deliver powerful, dynamic sound with deep bass and clear highs. It features dual 6.5-inch Deep Channel Design (DCD) copolymer woofers for authoritative bass response and low distortion, and a 1-inch VRH.O. anodized aluminum dome tweeter equipped with an Amplitude Modification Device (AMD) lens to correct polar patterns at high frequencies. The speakers have a bass-reflex enclosure with rear porting and are built with heavily braced MDF cabinets for rigidity. The VR-1 offers a frequency response of 46 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and a sensitivity of 93 dB at 2.83V/1m. Recommended amplifier power ranges from 15 to 200 watts. The crossover network includes first-order filters for the woofers and a third-order filter for the tweeter, plus an impedance correction circuit to ensure smooth performance. The speakers weigh approximately 19 kg (41.8 lbs) each and measure 915 x 229 x 267 mm (36.02 x 9.02 x 10.51 inches). They are designed to provide a dynamic, punchy, and accurate sound suitable for both music and home theater applications, with a wide soundstage and minimal coloration.
