About the A26

The Boston Acoustics A26 is a 2-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker in the A Series, designed for home theater and stereo music systems. It uses a 1-inch Kortec soft dome tweeter and a 6.5-inch Deep Channel Design (DCD) ceramic/glass fiber polymer woofer to deliver extended treble and robust bass from modest amplifier power. The cabinet features a high-contrast finish with scratch-resistant high-gloss panels (black lacquer or vinyl cherry, depending on version), internal bracing, and an acoustically tuned rear bass port to improve low-frequency response and reduce distortion. Recommended amplifier power is 10-150 watts, with sensitivity of 89 dB (2.83V/1m), nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and a frequency response of 51 Hz-25 kHz (±3 dB). Gold-plated 5-way binding posts and a magnetic grille with integrated hanging bracket support flexible placement and clean hookup in a variety of home audio setups.
