The Squeeze Box 2 Bolder Cables w/Ultimate IV PS is a highly customized version of the Slim Devices Squeezebox 2 digital music player. It features extensive modifications by Bolder Cable Company, including replacement of the stock Burr-Brown PCM1748 DAC with a higher-spec Burr Brown KE series DAC. The power supply is replaced with the Bolder Ultimate IV power supply, which includes four Bybee upgrades for enhanced power conditioning. The digital modifications focus on improving power supply energy storage capacity and reducing jitter, including replacing main power supply capacitors with higher value, low ESR versions, removing the 12.28 MHz crystal oscillator (optional), and upgrading the digital signal path and S/PDIF output with high-quality components. The analog and digital cables are silver plated copper with Teflon insulation, designed for improved audio performance. These modifications aim to deliver a cleaner, more detailed, and jitter-reduced audio output compared to the stock Squeezebox 2.
