This product is a custom-built step-up transformer designed for moving coil (MC) cartridges. It features vintage Altec TBB-103 transformers, which are known for their high-quality performance and magnetic shielding. The unit includes switches for high/low gain and ground/lift, allowing for step-up ratios of 1:12 (21 dB gain) or 1:48 (34 dB gain). The transformers are potted in mu-metal cans for excellent shielding and are filled with wax to minimize noise. The enclosure is made of black powder-coated cast aluminum, and the hardware is gold-plated for durability and aesthetic appeal.
