About the HDMI

Blue Jeans Cable's HDMI line consists of several distinct cable families: Series-1 and Series-FE bonded-pair passive cables built from custom American-made Belden stock, plus Series-3A active HDMI cables and Series 4 Ultra-High-Speed HDMI cables. The Series-1 and Series-FE designs use Belden's patented bonded-pair construction to maintain consistent pair spacing and impedance, which reduces return loss and skew and improves high-frequency performance and reliability over distance. In in-use testing, the Series-1 cable has carried 1080p/60 video to approximately 125 feet (and 720p/1080i to around 150 feet), though exact maximum distance depends on source and display electronics. Series-FE, a thinner 28 AWG bonded-pair HDMI cable, is certified High Speed (Category 2) to longer lengths than typical 28 AWG HDMI cables and supports all HDMI protocols and resolutions within its bandwidth rating. For long-run 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0 signals (roughly 4K/60 up to the HDMI 2.0 limit), Blue Jeans Cable offers the Series-3A active HDMI cable, which integrates an equalization/boost chip powered from the HDMI connection and is directional in use. For HDMI 2.1 applications, the Series 4 Ultra-High-Speed HDMI cable (short lengths only) is designed to support up to 48 Gbps total bandwidth and is compliant with all HDMI 2.1 resolutions, frame rates, HDR formats and audio protocols, while remaining backward-compatible with earlier HDMI versions. Not all Blue Jeans HDMI models are certified Ultra High Speed: Series-4 is offered as Ultra-High-Speed for 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 in select lengths, Series-FE is Premium/High Speed for up to 18 Gbps, Series-1 targets long-distance reliability for lower-bandwidth signals, and Series-3A is active and optimized for 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0 over longer distances. Ethernet support is available on the Series-FE bonded-pair HDMI cable and on High Speed with Ethernet rated models such as Series-3A, while Series-4 provides the full HDMI 2.1 feature set where supported.
