About the CDP 300
The Blacknote CDP 300 is an advanced-design CD player manufactured in Italy, known for its exceptional build quality and high-fidelity sound. It features 24-bit resolution with proprietary circuits and a vacuum tube output stage based on two 6922 tubes, delivering a balanced tube design that surpasses transistor or J-FET outputs in sonic performance. The player uses custom digital-to-analog converters from AKM (Japan) and Burr-Brown (Texas Instruments, USA), enabling real 24-bit resolution with oversampling significantly higher than standard CD players. Its transport mechanism includes a drawer-type design with a proprietary Natural Speed™ circuit that stabilizes disc rotation and virtually eliminates vibrations. The chassis is made of shielded steel with an anti-resonance lacquer to dampen vibrations, and the power supply is divided into four sections, each powered by dedicated custom transformers and stabilized by Blacknote's exclusive current generators. The clock generator uses a Burr-Brown PLL1705 microprocessor to achieve extremely low jitter (50 billionths of a second). The large alpha-numeric display can be switched off during playback to reduce internal voltage noise. Overall, the CDP 300 is engineered for revealing, accurate, and transparent audio reproduction, representing a high level of innovation and craftsmanship in digital audio players.
