The Berkeley Audio Design Alpha DAC Reference Series 3 is a state-of-the-art DAC designed to deliver exceptional audio realism by minimizing time-domain errors. It features ultra-low phase noise precision clocking, supports MQA rendering to 384 kHz and above, and includes HDCD decoding. The DAC offers multiple digital filter options and a digital volume control with a 60 dB range. It has balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog outputs that can connect directly to power amplifiers, eliminating the need for a preamplifier. Firmware is upgradeable through signal inputs. The unit weighs 30 lbs and measures 17.5" x 3.5" x 12.5". It supports input sampling rates from 32 kHz to 192 kHz at 24-bit resolution and includes inputs for AES/EBU, SPDIF (BNC), and TOSLINK optical.
