About the Sleipner

The Bergmann Audio Sleipner is a reference-level air-bearing turntable and linear-tracking tonearm system from Denmark. Its 9.2 kg aluminum platter is supported and centered by a thin air film, eliminating mechanical contact between the platter and bearing. The system uses a vacuum hold-down or record clamp, a digitally controlled high-precision DC motor for 33 and 45 rpm, and a separate air supply designed to provide clean, dry, smooth, and quiet airflow. The plinth uses a multi-layer construction incorporating powdered granite and epoxy, aluminum, bitumen, and a 12 mm polyvinyl outer layer. Its linear-tracking air-bearing tonearm has a carbon-fiber armtube and headshell molded as one piece, internal damping, a decoupled counterweight, and pure-silver internal wiring. The tonearm is adjustable in all angles and is available with XLR, RCA, or DIN connections. The turntable measures approximately 495 × 440 × 230 mm and weighs about 35 kg. The Sleipner is designed to minimize mechanical noise and resistance, providing a quiet, highly isolated platform for detailed analog playback.
