About the 8402

Belden 8402 is a two-conductor, 20 AWG balanced analog audio cable sold as bulk cable for microphone, studio, live-sound, and interconnect applications. It uses 26 × 34 stranded high-conductivity tinned-copper conductors, EPDM rubber insulation, a rayon braid, a tinned-copper braid shield with approximately 85% coverage, a cotton wrap, and a brown CSPE (chlorosulfonated polyethylene) jacket. Belden 8402 is the cable itself, not a factory-terminated RCA-to-XLR interconnect; connector types, plating, wiring, and finished-cable configuration depend on the assembler. Published electrical specifications include approximately 10.2 ohms/1,000 ft conductor resistance, 30 pF/ft conductor-to-conductor capacitance, and 55 pF/ft conductor-to-shield capacitance.
