About the 83803
The Belden 83803 is a three-conductor mains power cable featuring seven 20 AWG (equivalent to 12 AWG) tinned copper conductors insulated with Teflon. It includes 100% foil shielding with an 85% tinned copper braid shield and a Teflon jacket, making it highly resistant to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). This cable is designed for high current delivery with minimal losses, suitable for large HiFi amplifiers and audiophile applications. The cable is stiff but built with excellent shielding and construction quality. It is recommended to use quality power plugs compatible with 12 AWG conductors for termination. The grounded shielding significantly reduces noise pickup and prevents noise injection into nearby audio cables, enhancing audio performance.
