The Bel Canto Design Pre2P is a flagship two-channel solid-state preamplifier designed for demanding audiophiles. It features balanced inputs and outputs, including 1 pair of XLR balanced inputs, 5 pairs of RCA single-ended inputs, and a buffered tape loop. The unit uses high-performance Burr Brown OPA 627 operational amplifiers for its single-ended outputs and an ultra-wideband, low-noise, low-distortion balanced output stage with Caddock resistors. It incorporates the latest generation of digitally controlled analog attenuators with precise 0.5 dB steps that do not wear out. The Pre2P includes a comprehensive LCD touch panel universal remote with extensive functionality such as input naming, gain matching, soft-mute offset, and volume control in 0.5 dB steps. The chassis measures 17.5" W x 14.5" D x 4.5" H and weighs approximately 24 pounds. The design emphasizes low distortion and noise floor, utilizing surface-mount technology to shorten signal paths and maintain musical purity. It also includes a high-quality phono stage, making it a versatile and musically satisfying preamplifier option.
