About the EVO 4
The Bel Canto EVO 4 is a 4-channel power amplifier introduced around 2002, designed with advanced digital power processing technology. It delivers 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms when all four channels are driven, or 360 watts per channel into 8 ohms when bridged to two channels. At 4 ohms, it provides 200 watts per channel (4 channels) or 500 watts per channel (2 channels bridged). The amplifier features a frequency response from 1 Hz to 80 kHz (-3 dB), total harmonic distortion less than 1% at rated power, and a damping factor greater than 100 below 100 Hz. It has a gain of 23 dB and accepts both XLR and RCA inputs. The EVO 4 is known for combining the clarity and power of transistor amplifiers with the organic sound qualities reminiscent of tube amplifiers. It weighs approximately 18 kg (40 lbs) and measures 17.5" W × 14.5" D × 4.5" H. The amplifier is highly efficient, with an idle power draw of about 65 watts, and includes comprehensive protection circuitry and soft clipping for graceful overload handling. It was
