About the CD1

The Bel Canto CD-1 is a high-end CD player designed for superior musical performance from CD collections. It features a modified Philips CD drawer loading platform slaved to a custom low-jitter clock with a separate regulated power supply. The clock drives a wide dynamic range PCM1792 dual differential multi-bit delta-sigma DAC, paired with true differential current-to-voltage conversion using ultra-precision resistors and 90MHz bandwidth balanced low-noise analog amplifiers. This setup delivers holographic imaging, robust dynamics, and detailed bass textures. Custom multi-stage power supply regulators, filters, digital output sections, and balanced/single-ended output buffers ensure uncompromised performance. Outputs include both balanced and unbalanced analog connections. It has been superseded by the CD-2 model.
