About the dps 3
The Bauer Audio dps 3 turntable is designed by Willibald Bauer to combine the best qualities of analog vinyl playback with the pitch stability and low jitter of digital sources. It features a high-torque synchronous motor with three-phase current control, a stiff inverted ruby ball bearing, and a light, low-resonance acrylic platter. The motor is mounted on an aluminum base to minimize vibration transmission to the pickup. The multilayer frame consists of MDF, heavy foil, and cork, resting on three polymer elements that decouple the drive from the ground and dampen airborne noise effectively. The turntable supports 33 and 45 rpm speeds via belt repositioning and comes in walnut or white frame designs with black or white acrylic plates and black or silver aluminum bases. The tonearm is a single-point bearing (unipivot) design with an effective length of 239.3 mm and installation distance of 222 mm. The power supply is an analog sine wave generator with three output stages, producing three-phase current, housed in a compact unit (67 x 105 x 330 mm, 2 kg). The dps 3 is praised for its extraordinary pitch stability, low jitter, and natural sound, making it a modern classic in turntable design. It is handmade in Germany and offers special versions on request.
