About the Vector 4
The Basis Audio Vector 4 tonearm is a state-of-the-art analog tonearm designed by Armando 'AJ' Conti, incorporating 16 years of analog design experience. It uniquely combines elements of unipivot and fixed bearing designs to solve common tonearm issues such as bearing chatter, azimuth correction, and azimuth rocking caused by record warps. The Vector 4 uses a hybrid bearing system with a polished hardened tool steel male pivot and a secondary stabilizer bearing to prevent rolling and eliminate bearing chatter, resulting in silent operation and precise tracking. The armtube is fabricated from a proprietary 'matrix' alloy that optimizes strength and resonance control, with internal damping to further reduce vibration. It includes an integral 4-foot tonearm cable with RCA or XLR connectors, using Basis's own Perfect Signal Transmission Technology cable, enhancing signal integrity. The Vector 4 is compatible with Basis turntables such as the Inspiration, 2500/2800, 2200, Bravo, or any turntable with a 222mm pivot to spindle distance and a platter height of 30mm or more above the armboard. It is praised for astonishing transparency, exceptional tracking ability, and low record wear, making it one of the finest tonearms available. The product is made in the USA and comes with a 10-year parts and labor warranty.
