The Basis Audio 2500 Diamond Signature is a refined version of the original 2500 turntable, in production since 1997. It features an innovative fluid-damped suspension adapted from the Debut model, reducing subchassis size for optimal resonant behavior. Key components include a 2-inch thick acrylic platter on an ultra-close tolerance bearing, a synchronous instrument motor with proprietary magnet assembly for low cogging and vibration, and the revolutionary Basis belt for minimal noise. The Resonance Annihilator suspension provides 50dB isolation from environmental vibrations and damps subchassis energy into heat. Optional vacuum record hold-down system eliminates record resonance by applying controlled negative pressure, flattening even warped records and enhancing tonality, dynamics, and bass. Designed by A.J. Conti, it delivers silent backgrounds, low grain, transparency, and effortless sound. Often paired with Vector tonearms like Vector 3 or 4, and available in clear acrylic/silver trim or black finishes.
