About the Beogram TX2
Manufactured between 1985 and 1991, the Beogram TX2 is a classic Bang & Olufsen tangential record player designed by Jacob Jensen. It features automatic registration of record size and speed, seven repeat functions, and is based on the Beogram 5005. The turntable includes Bang & Olufsen's patented chassis suspension and a special tone arm design that prevents vibrations from reaching the cartridge, enhancing sound quality and protecting records. It supports speeds of 33 and 45 rpm with a speed deviation of less than +/- 0.2%. The turntable is belt-driven with electronic servo-drive and tangential tracking. It can be used with any cartridge from the MMC 1 to MMC 5 range, sold separately. The US model (type 5913) has a 110V transformer without voltage switching, while the European model (type 5911) supports 220V. Dimensions are 42 x 7.5 x 32.5 cm and it weighs 5.3 kg. Power consumption is under 10 W. Recommended stylus pressure is 1.2 g. The Beogram TX2 was designed for audiophiles seeking high fidelity and ease of use with features like search functions for backward and forward play.
