About the Beogram 8000
The Bang & Olufsen Beogram 8000 is a high-end stereo turntable produced from 1981 to 1983 in Denmark. It features a unique tangential drive system with a quartz-controlled electronic flywheel and a microprocessor-controlled direct drive platter using a linear motor. The turntable offers precise speed control with a digital display, allowing pitch adjustment within ±3%. It includes a servo-driven tangential tonearm with parallel arms, one with a light source and detector to sense record presence, and the other carrying the acclaimed MMC 20 CL pickup cartridge for excellent tracking and minimal record wear. The Beogram 8000 is part of the Beolab 8000 system and can be integrated with other Bang & Olufsen components via the Data Link system for remote control and automation. It has a pendulum suspension system to isolate vibrations and provides very low wow and flutter (<0.04%) and high rumble attenuation (>70 dB weighted).
