The Balanced Audio Technology VK-55SE is a high-end vacuum-tube power amplifier designed to provide rich, soulful sound with a focus on harmonic texture and instrumental timbre. It uses a sophisticated tube complement including 2x 6H30, 2x 6SN7, 2x 6922, and 4x 6C33C-B triode output tubes. The amplifier features vacuum-tube current sources and an intelligent automatic bias system that adjusts for line voltage changes and tube aging, ensuring consistent performance. It delivers 55 watts per channel into 8 ohms in stereo mode and 110 watts per channel in mono mode. The frequency response ranges from 8Hz to 200kHz with a total harmonic distortion of 3%. The VK-55SE is built with high-quality paper-in-oil capacitors and has a power supply energy storage capacity over five times that of its predecessor. It weighs 50 lbs and measures 17" x 8" x 16". This amplifier does not include a remote control and consumes 400W at idle and 800W at full power.
