About the Rhumba Xphono 1.1

The Backert Labs Rhumba Xphono 1.1 is a tube phono preamplifier with separate MM and MC inputs, a front-panel MM/MC selector, and two gain settings for each cartridge type: 41 or 47 dB for MM and 61 or 67 dB for MC. It uses four Gold Lion 12AT7 tubes with automatic biasing and a GreenForce power supply. The MC section provides 15 loading options, while a second MC cartridge can be connected through the internal step-up transformer to the MM input. Outputs include balanced XLR and single-ended RCA connections, and the unit offers selectable chassis-ground or power-supply-ground options for system noise optimization.
