About the Arcadia
The B.M.C. Arcadia is a symmetrically designed, three-way bipolar loudspeaker system that offers a unique soundstage depth by using identical driver sets on both the front and rear of the cabinet. It features custom-made drivers with honeycomb-Kevlar cones, including two 11-inch woofers with six magnets arranged in a ring for a dense magnetic field and long linear excursion, four 6.1-inch midrange drivers, and two Air-Motion Transformer ribbon tweeters. The cabinet is constructed from a ceramic-composite material called 'Megalith,' which is dense, acoustically optimized, and stable over decades. The external crossover weighs 37.5 lbs and allows for future upgrades. The sealed enclosure design improves bass precision by avoiding bass-reflex resonances. Each cabinet measures 47.2 inches high, 20.4 inches deep, and 11.2 inches wide at the base, tapering to 7.7 inches at the top, and weighs 198 lbs excluding the crossover. The speaker system has a sensitivity of 91 dB, an impedance of 4 ohms, and is designed for audiophile use with a suggested price under per pair.
