The Ayre Acoustics CX-7e-mp is an upgraded version of the CX-7e CD player, incorporating an exclusive Minimum Phase (MP) digital filter for improved impulse response with no pre-ringing and minimal post-ringing. It delivers exceptional musicality with deep bass, excellent dynamics, three-dimensional imaging, and tonal accuracy. Key upgrades include refined power supply with RFI filtering, increased peak current delivery, a single-pass 16x oversampling digital filter, Xilinx FPGA in earlier e-series, twin massive power transformers for separate analog and digital supplies, and fully balanced zero-feedback analog circuitry using Burr-Brown DACs. It supports two digital filter modes: 'Listen' for time-domain accuracy and 'Measure' for frequency-domain accuracy. Balanced and single-ended analog outputs are provided, along with a balanced AES/EBU digital output. Praised for lively, open, detailed sound with superior micro/macrodynamics, low noise floor, and engaging presentation compared to predecessors and competitors.
