About the NW-T
The Ayon NW-T is a vacuum tube based network transport with an integrated ADC, featuring a tube-buffered digital output stage and tube-regulated power supply to preserve the sonic character of tube technology in the digital domain. It serves as a pure digital source and does not provide any analog audio outputs, instead offering multiple digital outputs (S/PDIF, BNC, I2S, TosLink, AES/EBU, plus dedicated BNC DSD outputs on the DSD version) for connection to an external DAC or CD player with digital input. The built-in analog-to-digital converter allows an external analog source (for example, a phono stage) to be digitized up to 24-bit/192 kHz and stored to a NAS. The NW-T supports network streaming via UPnP/DLNA from NAS or servers and can play high-resolution PCM up to 192 kHz/24-bit, and in the DSD version it additionally supports DoP and native DSD64/DSD128 when used with compatible software. An external DAC is required for any analog audio playback in a hi-fi system.
