About the Evolution A5.2
The AVM Evolution A5.2 is a high-end stereo tube hybrid integrated amplifier combining a tube line stage with a powerful Class D amplifier. It features a hybrid fully-balanced design utilizing two ECC83 (12AX7A) tubes visible through a glass window on the top cover, powered by a regulated voltage generator independent from the main AC line. The amplifier delivers 2 x 200 watts into 8 ohms and 2 x 350 watts into 4 ohms, with a double mono power supply and highly efficient output stages. It offers 5 line-level stereo RCA inputs, 1 XLR input, processor input/output, two stereo preamp outputs (RCA and XLR), and a headphone output that can be switched as a front input. The A5.2 supports connection of power amplifiers via RCA Cinch and active subwoofers through the processor in/out. It has three modular slots accessible from the rear panel for optional upgrades including phono (MM and MC), tuner, and USB DAC modules, allowing customization to user preferences. The amplifier has adjustable input sensitivity (20mV to 350mV), input impedance of 14 kOhms (XLR) and 6.8 kOhms (RCA), a damping factor greater than 200, and a frequency response extending beyond 50 kHz. It consumes a maximum of 900 watts and less than 1 watt in standby mode. The unit measures 430 x 130 x 325 mm and weighs 12 kg. It is available in aluminum silver or black finishes. The A5.2 supports two pairs of speakers (A+B) and offers a comfortable menu for individual configuration including input naming and sensitivity adjustments. This amplifier is designed for audiophiles seeking a flexible, powerful, and high-fidelity integrated amplifier with tube warmth and modern digital upgrade options.
