About the Duo

The Avantgarde Acoustic Duo is a three-way loudspeaker system featuring a spherical midrange horn and treble horn with an active reflex-loaded woofer system. The midrange horn covers an exceptionally wide bandwidth of about four octaves, reducing distortion and enhancing dynamic expression. The woofer section consists of two 7-inch long-throw bass drivers in a 45-liter reflex-loaded enclosure with a 100W integrated amplifier, delivering deep bass down to 30Hz in optimal setups. The system has a high sensitivity of 104 dB/W/m, nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and crossover frequencies at 170Hz and 2kHz. The Duo's hybrid design with a self-powered 250W subwoofer makes it easy to drive even with low-powered tube amplifiers, producing powerful and dynamic sound. The horns are made from ABS plastic with a polished finish, and the system stands about 1.7 meters tall, 670 mm wide, and 680 mm deep, weighing approximately 143 lbs each. The Duo has been recognized for its audiophile quality and offers optional finishes and subwoofer upgrades.
