About the Duo Omega G2

The Avantgarde Acoustic Duo Omega G2 is a high-efficiency, hybrid three-way horn loudspeaker system combining horn-loaded midrange and tweeter with an integrated active subwoofer module. It uses the M2 Omega high-impedance midrange driver loading a large spherical horn (approx. 670 mm diameter) and an Omega tweeter horn, both employing Omega high-impedance voice coils and Alnico/ferrite magnet systems derived from Avantgarde's Trio technology. The horn section offers ultra-high system sensitivity of 107 dB/W/m and a nominal system impedance of 18 Ω, allowing use with very low-power tube amplifiers. The Duo Omega G2 is supplied with an upgraded SUB225-G2 active bass module using dual 10-inch drivers and a built-in 250 W amplifier, covering roughly 18–350 Hz, while the horn section operates from about 170 Hz to 20 kHz for a system bandwidth of 18 Hz–20 kHz. The midrange is operated without a passive crossover in its passband, and the tweeter network incorporates Avantgarde's patented CPC (Capacitor Polarization Circuit) technology for improved linearity and noise performance. As part of the G2 generation, the Duo Omega G2 has been discontinued and superseded by later XD and G3/GT series models.
