The Avantgarde Duo 2.1 Mk II is a three-way loudspeaker system featuring midrange and treble horns combined with an active reflex-loaded woofer system. The midrange horn covers an exceptionally wide bandwidth of about four octaves, reducing distortion and enhancing linearity. The system includes a 1" concave-dome tweeter, a 5.5" Kevlar-cone midrange driver, and two 7" cone woofers in an active woofer enclosure with a 100W amplifier. The woofer enclosure is reflex-loaded with a slot-loaded port tuned to approximately 35Hz, allowing in-room bass response down to 30Hz. The speaker system is designed with a three-pillar steel tube frame for adjustable horn placement and optimized acoustic impedance control. Sensitivity is high, with 101dB for midrange/treble and 95dB for the woofer, enabling use with low-powered amplifiers. The system dimensions are approximately 1.7m high, 670mm wide, and 680mm deep, weighing 143 lbs each.
