About the Integris CDP

The Aurum Acoustics Integris CDP is an integrated front-end component combining a high resolution CD player and linestage preamplifier. It is designed to serve as the centerpiece of high-performance hi-fi systems and is fully compatible with the Integris Active 300B amplifier and speaker system. The unit features a top-loading CD transport with a heavy aluminum cover on Teflon sliders, a dimmable vacuum fluorescent display, and a microprocessor-controlled analog volume control for precise gain adjustment. Internally, it uses a Philips Pro 2M transport mechanism feeding an Anagram Quantum module with Motorola SHARC processors for 24-bit/192kHz digital output, converted by Analog Devices AD1893 DACs. The preamp section supports both analog and digital inputs and outputs, including balanced XLR and single-ended connections, with software-controlled preamp functionality allowing input offset and input renaming. The modular architecture allows for future upgrades such as headphone amplification or phono stages. The design goal is to exceed the performance of the finest separates while providing operational convenience and value advantages in a single component. The Integris CDP is praised for its clarity, resolution, and coloration-free sound presentation, making it a highly resolving and revealing component in high-end audio systems.
