About the VIDA Prima
The Aurorasound VIDA Prima is a high-end phono preamplifier designed for analog audio enthusiasts, featuring a combination of NF (high frequency) and CR (low frequency) networks in its RIAA compensation circuit to deliver a warm, transparent sound with excellent signal-to-noise ratio and very low distortion. It offers selectable gain settings for MM (40dB) and MC (64dB) cartridges, with three load impedance options (47kΩ for MM, and two settings for MC high and low levels) to accommodate various cartridge types. The device includes a large, convenient mute switch for easy cartridge handling and a robust chassis with an aluminum front/rear panel and a handcrafted Japanese wooden case. The internal power supply uses a toroidal transformer with Schottky diodes and audiophile-grade components to ensure low noise and stable operation. High-quality components such as Texas Instruments semiconductors, WIMA film capacitors, and Japanese precision metal film resistors are used throughout. The phono stage provides a very flat frequency response with ±0.5dB accuracy from 20Hz to 20kHz, an output impedance of 47Ω, and extremely low THD+N (0.009% for MM, 0.01% for MC). It weighs 2.2kg and measures 250mm x 246mm x 69mm.
