The AURALiC ARIES is a family of network streaming transports/bridges that connect local or online digital music sources to an external DAC, providing high-resolution playback and advanced network/streaming capabilities for home audio systems. Earlier ARIES models were introduced as wireless streaming bridges that serve as a 'bridge' between network storage/online services and a DAC, supporting PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD (including higher rates in later revisions). The current ARIES line includes dedicated streaming transports such as the ARIES G1.1, ARIES G2.1, ARIES G2.2 and ARIES S1, which add features like tri-band Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, advanced Tesla processing platforms, optional internal NVMe SSD storage, and broad support for major streaming services (e.g., TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Amazon Music), while maintaining digital-only outputs to work with external DACs. Across the series, supported formats include common lossless and lossy file types (AIFF, ALAC, APE, FLAC, WAV, DSF/DIFF, AAC, MP3, WMA, and MQA where applicable) with PCM up to 384 kHz/32-bit and DSD up to DSD512, delivered via digital outputs such as USB Audio, AES/EBU, coaxial S/PDIF, Toslink, and AURALiC Lightning Link. Control is typically via AURALiC's Lightning DS app (iOS) and compatible platforms like Roon Ready and OpenHome/uPnP controllers, enabling flexible integration into modern networked audio systems.
