About the Aries Mini
The Auralic Aries Mini is a wireless and wired network music streamer designed to connect to existing home audio systems. It features Auralic's proprietary Tesla hardware platform with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor running at 1GHz, 512MB DDR3 RAM, and 4GB internal storage. The device includes an ESS Sabre ES9018K2M DAC chip capable of decoding PCM up to 32bit/384kHz and DSD up to DSD256, delivering high-quality digital-to-analog conversion with low distortion and jitter reduction. It supports a wide range of audio formats including AAC, AIFF, ALAC, APE, DIFF, DSF, FLAC, MP3, OGG, WAV, WV, and WMA. Connectivity options include Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band WiFi (802.11ac tri-band), USB 2.0 ports for external drives and DACs, coaxial and optical S/PDIF outputs, and stereo RCA analog outputs. The Aries Mini supports streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, internet radio, AirPlay, Songcast, and Bluetooth 4.0. It runs the Auralic Lightning DS control software compatible with iOS 8 and above, and supports OpenHome and UPnP media servers. The device has a compact footprint (approximately 135 x 135 x 28 mm) and weighs about 500g. An optional internal 2.5" hard drive bay allows for offline music storage, eliminating the need for a separate NAS. Power consumption is around 10W during playback. The Aries Mini is available in black or white and can be upgraded with an optional linear power supply for improved performance.
