About the Silver Night MkII 300B
The Audion Silver Night MkII 300B Power Amplifier is a high-end, single-ended Class A tube amplifier delivering 7 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It uses 300B output tubes with a zero feedback design for a pure, dynamic sound. The amplifier is hand-built with point-to-point wiring using high-quality components including silver wiring in the audio path. It features a variable sensitivity input (>150mV full output), a frequency response of approximately 20 Hz to 24 kHz ±3 dB, and distortion under 0.1% at 1 watt. The amplifier is designed to drive loudspeakers with 4 to 16 ohm impedance and is best suited for speakers with efficiency of 89 dB or higher. The chassis is made from military-grade aluminum with a black powder-coated finish and mirror-polished stainless steel top plate and badge. It includes a front volume control, negating the need for a preamplifier in many cases. The amplifier consumes about 145 to 152 watts of power and uses tubes such as 300B, 6H23N, and CVX120 in the driver stages. It is known for its musicality, low noise floor, and ability to deliver detailed, liquid sound with excellent vocal reproduction. The Silver Night MkII is part of Audion's intermediate level range and is hand-wired with no overall feedback to preserve dynamic headroom and sound purity.
