About the Premier 2.0
The Audion Premier 2.0 is a hand-built, two-box pre-amplifier featuring an active Class A line level stage combined with a moving magnet (MM) phono stage. It includes 4 line level inputs, 1 MM phono input, and 3 outputs (2 line outs and an unattenuated tape output). The separate power supply box reduces noise and improves sonic performance. The line pre-amp uses a classic Alps Blue Velvet volume potentiometer and superior input switching. The phono stage is an active valve design without step-up transformers, delivering fast, fluid, and detailed sound with excellent resolution and depth even at low volumes. It is versatile, suitable as a buffered volume control or phono stage for various amplifiers. The chassis is black powder-coated aluminum with a mirror-finished stainless steel top plate and badge. Tubes used are 4 x 6H23N or E88CC (6922). It has a ground lift switch to resolve grounding issues. Power consumption is 12 watts.
