About the Edison 60
The Edison 60 is a stereo integrated power amplifier kit from Audion that delivers 30 Watts per channel. It is designed for DIY assembly with clearly marked PCBs and can be configured in three modes: Push-Pull for maximum power, Parallel Single Ended (PSE) for a balance of power and performance, and Triode mode for pure signal quality with lower power output. The amplifier uses EL-34 tubes and massive air-gapped output transformers suitable for single-ended operation. It features three line inputs and a volume control. The kit is praised for its excellent sound quality right from first use, with further improvements after about 100 hours of burn-in. Testing can be done with simple tools like a multimeter or oscilloscope, and test tones are provided for convenience. The amplifier is noted for its harmonic richness, soundstage, and ability to be tailored to personal taste and system requirements through various tweaks and configurations.
