The Audiomat Phono 1.7 is a premium phono preamplifier designed and manufactured in France, succeeding the earlier Phono 1.6 model. It supports both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges with dedicated RCA inputs for each. The unit features a separate external power supply to minimize electrical and mechanical interference, and uses exclusively discrete components without integrated circuits. The RIAA equalization employs high-quality polypropylene and mica capacitors. The MC gain stage is feedback-free with a current-controlled input, accommodating cartridges with internal resistance from 1 to 200 Ohms.
