The Audio Valve Eclipse (also known as Eklipse in German-speaking regions) is a premium tube-based stereo preamplifier that uses four Electro-Harmonix 12AU7A tubes for voltage gain. It offers a maximum output level of 15V, an output impedance of 300 ohms, and a bandwidth of 4Hz to 45kHz. The preamplifier features seven RCA line inputs and multiple outputs including two unbalanced RCA and one unbalanced XLR output. It is housed in a robust, powder-coated steel chassis with gilded connectors and includes remote control functionality with standby and mute features. The Eclipse is praised for its expansive soundstage, natural timbres, harmonic richness, and exceptionally low noise floor, allowing micro details to emerge with clarity. It delivers agile and dynamic bass with great weight and impact, and offers world-class micro and macro dynamics. Dimensions are 420mm (W) x 320mm (D) x 130mm (H), weighing approximately 20 kg (44 lbs). The unit is available in black with an option for silver finish at an additional cost. The Eclipse is manufactured in Germany and distributed in the US by Lombardi Sales.
