About the AT7V
The Audio-Technica AT7V phono cartridge is designed to faithfully extract and express recorded musical artistry and harmonic sound quality often lost in other cartridges. It features independent left and right magnets and a PCOCC coil with terminal pins to ensure pure signal transmission. The cartridge is a moving magnet type with a VM dual-magnet stereo design, offering a frequency response from 15Hz to 25kHz and an output voltage of 5mV at 1kHz, 5cm/sec. It has a tracking force range of 1.75 to 2.25 grams (2.0 g standard), load impedance of 47k ohms, channel separation of 27dB at 1kHz, and channel balance better than 1.5dB at 1kHz. The stylus is a grain-oriented square shank nude special elliptical diamond with 0.2 x 0.7 mil tracing radii mounted on a tapered aluminum alloy cantilever. The cartridge weighs 6.2 grams and mounts on a 1/2 inch tonearm. It includes accessories such as an owner's manual (in Japanese), screwdriver, screws, nuts, and washers. The stylus replacement model is Audio-Technica ATN7V with an indigo knob color. The AT7V is noted for its smooth, refined midrange, clear but not overly bright top end, and warmer bass compared to some competitors. It is an LP Gear exclusive import not officially distributed by Audio-Technica USA but available in the US market through importers.
