About the OC9XL

The Audio-Technica AT-OC9XSL is a low-output dual moving coil phono cartridge in the AT-OC9X series, featuring a nude special line contact stylus mounted on a 0.28 mm solid boron cantilever and a rigid aluminum body designed to reduce resonance. It uses PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) coils arranged in a reverse V formation for improved channel separation and reduced stylus pressure, which helps minimize distortion and enhance transient response and detail. A powerful neodymium magnet and permendur yoke increase magnetic energy and contribute to wide bandwidth and high resolution across a rated frequency response of approximately 20-50,000 Hz, with channel separation around 28 dB. The body is pre-threaded, allowing easy mounting to a headshell or tonearm with just two screws and no nuts, making it suitable for high-fidelity systems where precise tracking, low distortion, and excellent stereo imaging are priorities.
