About the LP70X

The AT-LP70X is a step-up entry-level turntable from Audio-Technica, introduced in 2024 as an upgrade to the popular AT-LP60X. It features a fully automatic belt-drive system with two speeds (33-1/3 and 45 RPM) and a three-piece, resonance-damping chassis that reduces unwanted vibrations for improved sound quality. The turntable includes a die-cast aluminum platter with a felt mat and an external AC adapter to minimize noise by moving AC/DC conversion outside the chassis. It has a J-shaped tonearm engineered to minimize tracking errors and improve stylus tracking compared to its predecessor. The integrated cartridge is an AT-VM95C Dual Moving Magnet type with a replaceable conical stylus, upgradeable to other VM95 series styli for enhanced audio performance. The AT-LP70X offers stereo RCA outputs with a detachable cable and a ground lug to reduce hum, plus a built-in switchable phono/line preamplifier allowing connection to powered speakers or home stereo systems with or without dedicated phono inputs. Additional features include a tonearm lock to prevent stylus damage, a tonearm lift lever for manual cueing, and a removable hinged dust cover. It is available in Black/Silver, Black/Bronze, and White/Silver color options. The turntable measures approximately 16" (400 mm) wide, 13" (330 mm) deep, and 4.3" (110 mm) high, weighing about 2.9 kg (6.4 lbs). It comes with a detachable RCA cable, 45 RPM adapter, and AC adapter included.
