About the ART9XA

The Audio-Technica AT-ART9XA is an updated version of the AT-ART7, featuring a non-magnetic core moving coil design that eliminates magnetic distortion for superior spatial representation and natural sound. It uses a nude Shibata stylus mounted on a 0.28 mm diameter solid boron cantilever, dual moving coils aligned in an inverted V shape for high channel separation and wide frequency response, and a redesigned coil armature providing an output voltage of 0.2 mV at 1 kHz. The cartridge body is a hybrid of machined aluminum and high-rigidity plastic to reduce resonance, supported by a machined aluminum base for playback stability. It is designed for half-inch mounting with threaded holes for easy installation. The AT-ART9XA is part of Audio-Technica's ART (Audio-Technica Reference Transducer) flagship line and is praised for its smoothness, delicacy, detail, and refined sound quality, especially suited for acoustic vocals, classical music, and small group jazz.
